Be Your Developmental Editor

About:

Gigs are full. Please contact me before ordering. Thanks.

Do you need an extra set of eyes to look at the big picture of your story? I can help you with that!

As a developmental editor, you can expect me to touch base on these elements:

  • Plot: Does the plot make sense? Is it plausible?
  • Themes: Are the themes well written and relevant to the story? Are there too many that I lost focus of the plot?
  • Characterization: Are your characters well developed and cast in a role that fits their personality or do they behave out of character?
  • Point of view/voice: Is the point of view consistent? Is it switching too frequently?
  • Pace: Does the plot move forward at an appropriate pace? Does the tension build too slowly or quickly?
  • Dialogue: Is it natural sounding? Is it full of adverbs or tags?
  • Flow: Can I follow your story's direction? Is there too much back story that the actual plot gets lost?

Good developmental editing will also bear in mind your target audience and will judge your work in relation to professional industry standards and expectations.

Developmental editing is also known as structural editing.

Please check out my other gigs for your other needs.

The seller was very professional and gave me great insight into my novel. I'm glad I bought her service at the early stage of my work. It saved us tons of time of rewriting. Will definitely order again!

This is the second manuscript that Stephanie edited for me. She did an amazing job! She provided thorough feedback, answered all my questions, and delivered in a timely manner. She was also very communicative and responded to my messages quickly. I will definitely work with her again.

Thank you Stephanie!

I sent Stephanie an outline for my romance novel, and she provided helpful feedback! Her comments helped me to see how a potential reader might react to the chapters before I write them. She also pointed out plot points that needed to be stronger!
