My process is not a one and done; rather, I go through your book three times. That is why my delivery time is longer than most.

When I edit your manuscript the first time I catch grammar, spelling, etc. so I have an understanding of your book. This is critical, especially if I am doing a developmental edit.

Then, I begin the second run-through catching subject-verb agreements, use of homophones (there vs. their, your vs you’re for example), and punctuation. At this point, I may move things around a bit as I fix syntax, false alignment, and more. If perchance, there is an area that is confusing or needs an addition, I will alert you to that area so you may write in a piece or clarify. Then you send that back to me, and I edit that. We are a team.

Once the second run-through is complete, I don’t look at your book for at least three days. Why? I want to have fresh eyes on your manuscript before I go through your book for the last time. That way, I catch everything.
