Line Editing

Focuses on big picture ideas: structure and organization, tone, pacing, voice, and phrasing. You may find some copyediting getting done in the process, but understand that it's not the focus, and it does not replace a copyedit.



Copyediting

You will probably get a few line comments, but nothing extensive—a small bit on continuity and genre expectations, with limited commentary on basic craft issues. The real focus of this edit will be on grammar, punctuation, and style (Chicago + Ink Slinger house style). Minimal fact checking—typically only things that seem to need fact checking—but very light and not guaranteed. We'll get your book ready for public consumption!



Proofreading

Typo check! The last step in publishing your book as an indie. We recommend as many rounds of proofreading as you can do, because perfection is impossible, but the more rounds you have, the closer you can get. (Price decreases with an additional round.)
